The following pictures come from a acquaintance of mine, Daniel Wehrli from Switzerland. He owns these animals. I have to say I do not like these animals in my eyes they are freaks of nature. In Japan they love them and the Japanese pay a lot off money for these specimens. I see it as a deformation due to a genetic defect. The animals eat everything, they only swim a bit different then normal stingrays. Maybe this defect is caused due to inbreeding.
On the picture below you can see a motoro at least if you can call this a motoro. They are also called batman rays for obvious reasons. The pictures are bigger then normal in this section so you can clearly see these specimens. I don't like them but this is a personal opinion.

The picture below a tripled of this "species" with al the same defect. The strange thing about this defect that their is a pattern. They all are missing something on the front and rear and of the disk. The other features are the same as with a "normal"ray.

This defect is also shown in the Aqualog book of Dr Richard Ross. He describes it as an extremely rare defect. I never have seen this animals "life" but maybe in the near future when we visit Daniel.
De pictures I have seen are always motoro rays. I've never seen pictures off other species with his defect but I'm told that all other species have their "batman rays". Even the saltwater rays have fish with the same defect.
To be continued.
