Introduction

Dear visitor

Welcome at the site of freshwater stingray. I hope after reading this site, you will love this marvelous animals just as much as I do.

Let me begin by introducing myself.  I'm Frank Zijlmans, 44 years old, married, and father of 2 kids.  I have been into aquariums from the age of 15.  I started off with a 14 gallon tank with all kinds of tropical fish.  After 1 year I replaced this tank with a 66 gallon.  In this tank I kept strange goldfish.  When I left home I took this tank along and changed it into a cichlid tank.  One year later the tank cracked and put an end to my aquarium hobby, at least for a while.

Ten years  ago, the feeling started again.  You know what I mean...got married, had kids, bought a house, but something was still missing.  Yes a tank.  I bought a 200 gallon tank and some discus (I still love discus).  After a while I even started to breed discus, which means 2 weeks of fun and 6 weeks of hard work.

Then it happened, I walked into my LFS and saw 6 beautiful little Potamotrygon Motoro's (long tails).  What could I say, it was love at first sight.  The virus spread and I read everything I could find and bought all the books (published concerning rays).

I've had several tanks with stingrays, the tank I have know is what you see on the picture on top of this page. This tank is not for breeding. This is a grow up tank for young pups which we want to keep for future breeding projects. All my breeding animals are at the Mega Tank facility. After reading this site you will know everything there is to know about freshwater stingray.

So Enjoy!

I hope the English on this site is readable, and I apologize in advance for incorrect grammar or spelling.
